A Facebook Open Thread
I don’t know how closely you follow Facebook news, but Mark Zuckerberg recently went from being the third-richest person in the world to the sixth. On the plus side, he set a new record! For… um… losing money.
As Time reports:
Mark Zuckerberg lost more wealth in a single day than the entire market value of Molson Coors Brewing Co., or Nasdaq Inc. or Ralph Lauren Corp.
In fact, about 175 companies in the S&P 500 are worth less than the $15.9 billion that vanished from the fortune of the Facebook Inc. co-founder as shares of the social-media giant plunged 19 percent Thursday.
I’ve been seeing more and more people arguing that we should #DeleteFacebook, but a lot of us are tied to Facebook whether we want to be there or not — after all, it’s where everyone else is.
So let’s make this a Facebook open thread: Do you use it? Do you like it? Do you wish you could delete it? Are you reading this article because The Billfold is part of your Facebook news feed?
