BuzzFeed Has Licensed a $35 Hot Glue Gun for Cheese
It’s called the Fondoodler, and I want one.

So I saw this BuzzFeed ad, and of course I clicked on it, because it hit both my LOVE OF CHEESE and my FEAR THAT I AM EATING CHEESE WRONG:

The ad takes you to the Fondoodler, a glorious miracle product that is literally a hot glue gun for cheese. Like, that’s their tagline.
I want a Fondoodler. You can use it to squirt warm melted cheese on stuff. It has all the possibilities of Easy Cheese—and believe me, I am the person who will bring two cans of Easy Cheese to a party, because I am so delighted that this product exists—plus the Fondoodler adds heat.
You could write your name on crackers! You could make a ham and hot cheese sandwich! You could use hot cheese to glue tortillas into a bowl shape, and then put salsa in the bowl!
But here is the most important part of the Fondoodler: it is licensed by BuzzFeed. Everyone’s favorite weird quiz site and surprisingly thorough longform reporting site has now moved into consumer products, apparently. (I reached out to BuzzFeed to ask if the Fondoodler was its first licensed consumer product—not counting their T-shirt store—and if they planned to license other products in the future. I have not yet gotten a response.)
Is it weird that BuzzFeed is associated with a $35 hot glue gun for cheese? Technically, it’s discounted to $25 right now, with guaranteed delivery by Christmas. I would like you to know right now that I expect one in my stocking come Christmas morning, because whatever twitchy mechanics that make BuzzFeed content so addictive have also made me yearn for this product, to the point where I feel like my life will be incomplete if I do not get the chance to try a Fondoodler, turn it into a video, and share the video with all my friends.
