Monday Check-In

Happy Monday! Let’s check in and see how we did on our weekend spending.

Last Friday, I estimated that I would spend $75 on groceries and $25 on a Lyft to get me home from Hugo House’s #EpiloguePrologue party. (Hugo House is Seattle’s writing center, for lack of a better term—they do classes, readings, workshops, etc.—and they’re moving to a new building, so we said goodbye to the old one.)

I ended up spending $78.93 on groceries and $22.88 on the Lyft. Hugo House is very close to Molly Moon’s homemade ice cream shop, so I also spent $5.66 (including tip) on a single scoop of rhubarb crumble ice cream. (Yeah, I know. I’m not going to make a habit of it.)

Then I donated $5.00 to Alberta and Fort McMurray fire relief via the Canadian Red Cross, and then I realized that, after the currency conversion, I was only charged $3.98. So I donated another $5.00 CAD/$3.98 USD. (I can’t spend more on ice cream than I do on disaster relief. Also, all donations will be matched by the Government of Canada.)

Total spending: $115.43.

How about you?
