Selling Girl Scout Cookies Where People Get the ‘Munchies’

Thirteen-year-old Danielle Lei sold 117 boxes of Girl Scout cookies outside of a medical marijuana dispensary in San Francisco. She sold out of her first inventory within 45 minutes. Some people did not approve:

Consistent with our policy for many years now, @GSColo doesn’t allow girls to sell cookies outside of any adult-oriented business…

…this includes bars, strip clubs, casinos, liquor stores or marijuana dispensaries.

The Girls Scouts of Northern California told the L.A. Times that they don’t currently prohibit their scouts from selling cookies in front of any particular location and rely on parents and volunteers to make “wise decisions” about where to sell the cookies. Danielle’s mother said they also sold at other locations and that selling in front of a marijuana dispensary also made it natural to have a mother-daughter discussion about drugs.
