Another Way to Find Things to Purchase

Is online shopping your thing? (Online shopping is some people’s thing.) If it is yours, perhaps you will be interested in a new site that uses math and an alogorithm and data scraping to show you which items in the stores of your choosing have had the biggest price drop! The site is called: Biggest Price Drop Dot Com.

If I get this, and I think I do, it’s a good idea because of psychology. Let’s say you want to buy a dress for $50. You could either buy a dress that has always been $50, or you can find one that is $50 now but was originally $60, or you could find one that is $50 now but was originally $100. Which dress will you feel best about? The last one obviously because that is how brains work. So: The site helps you find the very best dress that was once expensive but not anymore.

It was built by a husband for his wife to make online shopping easier for her. The wife’s blog is “Deal$ for the Rich,” which is a name I want to make fun of but you know what, I’m not going to because at least she’s owning it and not writing posts about thousand dollar purchases and trying to front like she’s middle class. It takes some guts to say you’re rich. Props.
