Monday Check-in

Good morning! Let’s check in.
My friends and I got a little dressed up and ended up for pre-dinner cocktails at Milk and Honey — a kind of speakeasy bar where there are no menus. The bartender tells you about fresh ingredients for the day, and you tell him/her what you like and a drink is prepared for you. I ordered a champagne cocktail for my first drink and something with gin and egg whites for my second. We were brought a little apéritif when we asked for our check, and with tip, the total came out to be $38. Dinner was at Keens Steakhouse, which has been around for more than 100 years and is known for its mutton. The four of us ordered a dozen oysters, iceberg salad, a side of bacon, market vegetables, mashed potatoes, two muttons, one t-bone, one filet mignon, two bottles of wine, three desert cocktails, and a slice of chocolate cake for a total of $155.29, including tip for my share. Looking at all that food, I was completely prepared to bust my budget, but I managed to make it within reason. I had estimated $200 for the weekend, and with a $36 trip to the grocery store I ended up spending $229.29.
How were your weekends?
