I’m Sticking With the Alt-Labor Group That Isn’t a Union But Is Kind of Like a Union

Working America, the AFL-CIO affiliated alt-labor group that organizes non-unionized workers, currently has chapters in 12 states. They talked to Josh Eidelson about their plans to double that by by 2016, and to have chapters in all 50 by 2018.

The goal is that “The political activism and sense of community shared by Working America members would prepare them to take up action where they work, which in turn would lay the groundwork for ongoing organizing — including unionization efforts.”

Since this is the thing, perhaps we should all get in on it now. (I just did.) (This is the most political thing I’ve done in years.) (Filling out a web form.) (Actually I didn’t even fill it out because of auto-complete. I just pushed the button.) (Okay bye.)
