My Last Hundred Bucks: Illicit Snacks, Not-Bad Coffee, and Some Flan

by Ruth Curry

$100! It is a lot of money, and yet, it is also not a lot of money at all. Where did your last hundred bucks go, Ruth Curry?

$26: Tickets for me and a Guest to see Laurel Nakadate’s film The Wolf Knife at IFC

$4.75: Iced latte from Think (should have been $10 but the barista very kindly comped me a replacement for the one I theatrically spilled. I think he saw I was about to cry.)

$7: Wasabi edamame, hippie “Food Should Taste Good” tortilla chips, and dark chocolate snuck into theater (shhh)$6: Cash tip for the mani/pedi I bought with a Groupon 3 months ago

$4.75: Breakfast wrap at Lena on 35th between 5th and 6th, includes free, not-bad coffee!

$19.93: iTunes receipt No. 168031290326, 1 episode Mad Men, 6 (yes, 6, alright? busy weekend) episodes Game of Thrones, SD

$17.50: National Grid (electricity bill)

$15.33: Seamless. 1/2 rotisserie chicken, beans and rice, tortillas, flan. Ate for dinner both Saturday and Sunday to justify laziness/expense of Seamless use.
