Question Wednesday

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time to sell us on your financial questions.

This week, my question is: would you like to see some occasional “Billfold Recommends” posts that include affiliate links to reputable/helpful products and services? In the most recent Patreon Newsletter, I noted that Mr. Money Mustache earned $50K/year through affiliate links, and it made me wonder whether that would be a good option for The Billfold.

I should note that The Billfold already earns money every time you click on one of our Amazon links — like the links in last week’s Tana French post —  and then purchase something (literally anything) from Amazon. That’s been working out pretty well for us, and it made me wonder if adding other affiliate relationships would work just as well.

I don’t want you to feel like The Billfold is constantly asking you to spend money, especially because we could go on just fine with our current revenue and upcoming sponsorships. But if there’s an option for The Billfold to earn more money through my recommending products I use and trust, I’d hate to leave that money on the proverbial table.
