Monday Check-In
It’s Monday, which means it’s time to check in on our weekend spending.
I spent most of this weekend cleaning. It was the kind of project that started out fun and ended up being “how many more shelves do I have to unload and wipe down???” but I wiped ’em all, and cleaned out all the drawers, and went through every box and suitcase under my bed. I also vacuumed under the bed. (There was so much dust.)
I washed my comforters and my blankets and my throw pillows, plus all the clothes and towels in my laundry hamper, and ended up spending $11.75 on four loads of laundry. (I threw in a few extra quarters to make sure those comforters and pillows got really dry.)
But… remember how I was like “I’ll just go to the grocery store for an economy-sized bottle of hand soap and then run my debit card to get cash back in the form of laundry quarters?” Yeah. I forgot that when you clean everything, you use up a lot of stuff. Like trash bags.
I ended up spending $22.87 on groceries. Household goods and cleaning stuff, plus something I could eat for dinner without having to mess up the kitchen I had just cleaned—and yes, I came very close to just ordering takeout, but I didn’t!
On Sunday I tried to text HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the Red Cross, but they texted back and said my phone plan didn’t include that service, so I made the donation at RedCross.org.
Total spending: $44.62.
How about you?
