How Much Was Your Breakfast?

A Billfolder in Brisbane, Australia reports on a mother-daughter breakfast:

Mine:

Cup of tea with milk 15c (teabag 6c, milk 9c)

Orange juice 48c. My partner and I had several conversations last year about upgrading to the expensive refrigerated juice rather than concentrate. Lifestyle creep is real. I still cut it with water to make it go further.

Cornflakes 80c. More expensive than usual as shop didn’t have offbrand version in stock.

Yoghurt 40c

Milk 27c

Pawpaw free, minus gardening work, water and time.

Total $2.10

Baby girl’s:

1/4 apple 12c — rejected

1 slice pawpaw free — rejected

Lovingly prepared fresh home made chicken and vegi mush 78c — rejected

1/2 slice toast 9c — rejected

Reheated spag bol sauce 20c — success!

Total $1.19 for three small spoonfuls and a lot of sad/resigned/grumpy feelings about rejection.
