Do 1 Thing: Rollover Or Rescue Your Old Retirement Accounts

Thursday is a great day to do that 1 thing you don’t want to do but also don’t want to continue thinking about doing

It’s D1T Thursday and perhaps we can celebrate by encouraging each other to go through our histories and rescue / rehabilitate / rollover the languishing retirement accounts left over from previous jobs. Yes, it might mean you have to make phone calls. Yes, it might be tedious or terrible. But think how great you’ll feel when it’s done!

As an incentive, we could give a prize to the person who discovers they have the most sizable amount in one of those forgotten 401(K)s. An extra-special prize if you beat the current high score of $11,300.

I will play, too, by calling TIAA-CREF back and actually making plans to do something with that windfall.
