Do 1 Thing, LLC

It’s Thursday, which means it’s time to Do 1 Thing.

Team Billfold suggested that my 1 Thing for this week be “look into whether I should become an LLC or an S Corp,” and while “look in” is a pretty vague objective, I can definitely do something that fulfills those terms.

I think “emailing my CPA about whether I should become an LLC or an S Corp” is not the right 1 Thing for today, not when we’re in tax season crunch time.

I also think “re-reading that one Freelancers Union article about the benefits and drawbacks of incorporating” would be cheating.

So here’s what I’ll do: I am going to be spending a lot of time on public transportation later this afternoon because I’m going to be moderating a few panels on writing and creativity at Norwescon this evening.

I will read three articles I’ve never read before on LLCs and S Corps.

I will also set myself a reminder to ask my CPA about LLCs and S Corps after tax season is over.
