Simple Is Letting Me Get Them New Customers!

I used to be a web copywriter (and I guess still am for the right price!) so I am always a little obsessed with the emails internet companies send out to their users. This one is no exception.
I do genuinely love Simple, the startup bank with pretty white debit cards that is not a bank at all but in fact a well-designed front end for a regular old big bank called Bancorp. If you’re going to put your money in an evil bank, you might as well have a pretty app and great customer service, right?
But I just love that it has come to this: that someone thought it was a great idea to tell everyone that they are so awesome at using the bank that they are now allowed to do some free customer acquisition for the bank itself. Woohoo! And you know what? It will probably work. They put the awful “invite a friend!” notification in hideous red in the upper right corner of their website, and every time I log in I genuinely try and think of friends I can spam just to get rid of the countdown. I was doing so well, too! I spammed three friends already and I only had 1 awful invite left, but now I have FIVE (ps: Just five, Simple? Was this worth an email?).
Please tell me if you want to join this internet bank and I will send you an invite. There is an ATM finder in the app that helps you find no-fee ATMs for their customers, though most of these ATMs are in a McDonald’s (#nojudgment). Maybe one day you can be as awesome at having a bank account as I am.
