Rich People Magazine, Summer Edition

Anyone shopping for an island needs to understand the costs and risks involved. Chris Krolow, CEO of Private Islands, which operates online island sales sites, says some clients buy an island — and then come back six months later to sell it again, as they found it too expensive and difficult to maintain, or just too isolated. Vladi warns that getting development permission for an undeveloped island can take many years, if you get it at all.

Back in January, we read that The Wall Street Journal was going to launch a magazine that’s “for people who are voyeuristically interested in the high end and are at the high end” — rich people, basically. It was one of the reasons why we decided to start doing interviews with high earners.

I forgot about it until today when I went to look to see if the magazine exists — it sure does, as you can see above from one of the pieces from the summer issue of WSJ. Money about shopping for an island in a column called “My Best Move.” There’s also this piece about the $10 billion-dollar jewels industry, and also how rich people use show horses and rock bands to save for retirement.
