Friday Estimate

It’s Friday, which means it’s time to estimate our weekend spending.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned it yet, outside of the Patreon Newsletter, but I’m currently working as the Assistant Stage Manager for Revival Theatre Company’s production of Sunday in the Park With George. (I do think I’ve mentioned that this is my VERY FAVORITE MUSICAL.)

I started out riding my bike to/from rehearsal, and then I realized I could get an extra hour of sleep if I took the bus up and took a Lyft home. Biking the seven miles uphill to rehearsal takes me about 45 minutes; biking the seven miles downhill at night takes an hour, since I’m deliberately curbing my speed to give me more time to watch for cars and to make sure I don’t pick up too much momentum. The last thing I want to do is not be able to come to a quick stop.

A Lyft takes 13 minutes, costs $15, and gets me home by 10:30 p.m. instead of 11:15, so… I’m doing that now.

One Lyft ride home from tonight’s rehearsal, one ride home from tomorrow’s rehearsal, and two rides to/from on Sunday because the bus doesn’t run on Sunday (and yes, I could ride the bike up and take a Lyft back, but I can’t guarantee that the Lyft driver will be able to fit my bike in their car) comes to $60.

Total estimate: $60.

How about you?
