Question Wednesday

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time to share those financial questions you’ve been hoarding.
Since it’s also the beginning of a new month, my question is: do you have any successes/failures to share, or any new financial goals for September?
(My other question is whether you want me to continue asking about successes/failures/goals every month. Y’all seem to be covering those topics pretty thoroughly in the weekly check-ins, but I can keep the dedicated thread for successes/failures/goals if you want!)
The Billfold is running more programming, which is my big success; my big goal for September is to get a few more Billfold-related items moving forward (sorry to be vague but I’ll tell you more soon, I promise); and in terms of financial fails, well… I thought I’d do the “reusable straw” thing and spent $7.99 on a package of five flexible silicone straws that turned out to be completely useless. I’ve made better straws by biting the ends off Twizzlers.
No, I didn’t return the straws because I’d already taken them out of the packaging, run them through the dishwasher, and tried to drink from them — and yes, I do wonder about the environmental impact of that purchase vs. just using disposable straws.
Share your successes/failures/goals — or ask your own questions — in the comments.
