Friday Estimate

It’s Friday, which means it’s time to estimate our weekend spending.
It looks like it’ll be another no-spend weekend for me. I spent $24.97 dining out this week, bringing my monthly unallocated discretionary spending total to either $361.15 or $285.15, depending on whether I pro-rate my $100 Days of Summer YMCA membership.
I don’t think I’m going to, though. I’m hoping I can get through the rest of the month without spending more than $40 on unallocated stuff, and hit my $400 unallocated spending cap goal.
“What about that lipstick you bought to replace the one you dropped on the bathroom floor?” you might ask. That goes under my groceries/toiletries budget, mostly because I’m not going to separate out the cost of a lipstick (or a bottle of hair product or lotion) from a big ol’ receipt that includes everything from toilet paper to apples. So, even though it was an unexpected expense, it wasn’t an unallocated one — I already knew I would spend around $200 on groceries/toiletries every month, and the lipstick fits into that. (YES, BUDGETING IS WEIRD AND EVERYONE DOES IT DIFFERENTLY.)
Total estimate: $0.
How about you?
