The Father’s Day Meal Deals Seem a Little Better Than the Mother’s Day Meal Deals
Because… dads like deals?

Father’s Day is this Sunday, and if you’re thinking about planning a Father’s Day celebration while also bragging about the great deal you got, you have… actually, you have a lot of options.
All the Places Where Dads Can Eat for Free on Father’s Day 2017
Let’s start with the big one: from now through Sunday, June 18, Dads get free Medieval Times admission:
Medieval Times: Use the code DAD17 when making a reservation for any time now through June 18, and dad’s admission is free with the full-price purchase of another adult.
TAKE YOUR DAD TO MEDIEVAL TIMES. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE’S DAD TO MEDIEVAL TIMES. THIS IS THE BEST DEAL EVER.
As you might remember, Megan and I looked at a list of Mother’s Day deals, and found them somewhat lacking:
A Friday Chat About Mother’s Day Deals
Moms got coupons and “MOMosas” and a free hot dog at Wienerschnitzel, and even then cheese was extra. When moms went to Spaghetti Warehouse, they got a free spaghetti and meatballs “to take home” after purchase of a Mother’s Day meal; dads get a free 15-layer lasagna or spaghetti and meatballs, no extra work required.
How come the dads get all the good deals? Is it because going out to eat on Father’s Day is less of a thing than going out to eat on Mother’s Day—when I worked in food service, there was no “Father’s Day Brunch”—and because of that these restaurants have to come up with deals to get dads in the doors?
For the record, Medieval Times apparently offered the same free admission deal for Mother’s Day—though it was not on Time Magazine’s deals list. That’s a shame, because moms like giant turkey legs and fake jousting too.
