Friday Estimate

It’s the freaking weekend, baby.

It’s the weekend, let’s figure out how much money we may or may not spend together.

I’m going away this weekend for a mini-vacation to Martha’s Vineyard to visit some friends. I’m flying to Boston and being picked up by my friend, but I imagine I’ll take a car to the airport ($40) and I’m sure I’ll throw in for whatever it costs to put our car in Boston on the ferry to the Vineyard ($8???). I’ll also buy a ferry ticket there and back ($30). Once we’re actually there, I have absolutely no idea what I’ll be doing. Exciting!

My friend is a consummate project manager in the best way possible and so I’m pretty sure this trip is already planned. There might be dinner, or a walk on the beach or wine or who knows. I’d love to be bold and say “I’m spending like, $50 and that’s that” but it’s a vacation. I’ll buy a sweatshirt. I’ll go to an antique store and find a mug or a tote bag or something. Surely I’ll buy a magnet. Let me give myself some leeway and say $150–$200 for the weekend I’m out there. That feels nice.

That puts me at a solid $278. Fine with me.
