Hello!

say hi

Hi friends.

While I’ve been writing for ye olde Billfolde for a few years now, it’s time for my official introduction. I’ll be stepping in to assist Mike and Nicole while Ester is away bringing new life into this world. We face equal challenges, so please keep us in your thoughts.

If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll know that I used to have a column with my dad, until he got “tired of millennials,” (LOL me too, dad). I’ve written openly about money and loneliness and why I owe my professional success to Diane Lockhart. I’m fascinated by how women navigate money and love and food and self-care and the patriarchy and troubling obsessions with British boybands. I also talk beauty and finances with Audrey twice a month. I’m so busy and modern! I know!

As for what you’ll be hearing about from me in the future: I moved from New York City to Toronto in November; it’s my first time back in my homeland in 15 years, so expect lots of dreamy odes to socialism and a good dose of panic regarding the freelance “lyfestyle.” And if there’s anything you’d like to explore, please let me know! I’d love to hear what you guys want to read about.

As Mike said, “I think people will enjoy that you’re not a perfect person with money,” which, I’m not sure what you’re implying, Mike, but sure, I’m pretty open about the fact that I rarely, if ever, know what I’m doing. I love The Billfold for its willingness to let us make mistakes and learn from them, together and without shame. I will try to do right by you.

Find me at meghan@thebillfold.com. And come hang out on Twitter, too!
