Couple Plus Dog & MiniPig Want To Pay $200 To Camp/Farm/Lodge With You

It’s not entirely clear to me what this peripatetic couple wants — to move out of their trailer? to have a better place to put their trailer? — but here is their Craigslist post, forwarded to me from a tipster in Boulder:

My girlfriend and I are both artists from Pittsburgh, PA, and we are looking for a new home. We stopped renting 6 months ago, and moved into a trailer, which we currently live in. Unfortunately, we are now parked in my parents driveway while we look for a place a little more permanent.

She is a painter interested in permaculture gardening, and I am a writer interested in home brewing. Our dream is to soon be fully self-staining. We are equipped with solar panels, and our both very handy. My girlfriend Sadie has her 200 hour yoga certification, and will be attending farmer training in Vermont this summer. We have two pets: a dog (Clownshoes) he is a doberman/beagle. We just rescued him, he is quiet and well trained. We also have a mini-pig named Almond. She is quiet and keeps to herself. We would need to build her a small enclosure. She is great for making compost!

This may not be The Way We Live Now, but it is the Way We May All Live Soon, especially if rental prices keep rising like the cliffs of insanity and housing prices remain similarly high. Trailers and driveways for all!

These back-to-the-land-ers are willing to pay $200-$600 for … something. They seem sincere and earnest and hey, they come equipped with their own solar panels! As well as the rescue dog and the mini-pig. Would you like to provide a home — or a tract of land — for them for the winter? They seem like they might come in useful during an apocalypse.
