Above The ‘Fold: The Very First Billfold Live Event!

It’s happening at last! The Billfold is having its very first live event at Housing Works Bookstore & Cafe in NYC on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Free, of course. There will be special guests, storytelling, financial advice, and live music, courtesy of Josh Michtom and his brass band. Seriously: they’re coming all the way from Connecticut for the occasion.

I’m planning this kind of gradually and with trepidation, since Mike shies away from all public appearances and Meaghan is decamping to Portland, so please help give me direction. What would you enjoy at a Billfold event? What’s your preferred ratio of information to entertainment? Would you find it useful to have financial advisors in house so that you could circulate among them afterwards and collect cards? Would you want one or more of them to speak from the stage and give, say, their five top financial tips? Or do you just want to relax and drink beer as our special guests to regale you with their greatest money-related hits, Billfold Top 40-style?
