Alert! Affordable Apartment Lottery in Brooklyn

As DNA Info reports, there is a housing lottery for affordable apartments in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn for low-income residents. Just how affordable, you ask?

Studio apartments are as low as $539, and two-bedrooms for less than $900. I sadly but genuinely CANNOT IMAGINE.

The project at 60 Water St., which is currently under construction near Dock Street, set aside 58 low-income units for residents making up to $23,520 for a studio and $41,950 for a two-bedroom.

Applicants will be entered into a lottery, with preference given to New York City residents.

Apartments would be available in 2015, and applications are here — due postmarked by April 7th!
