Monday Check-In

It’s Monday, which means it’s time to check in on our weekend spending.

Last Friday, I estimated that I’d spend $45 on Lyft rides to/from rehearsal. I ended up spending a lot more than that, so here we go:

I actually spent $58.27 on rides to/from rehearsal; it turns out the bus stops running early on Saturdays, so I had to add another ride to my total.

I also made an “emergency” trip to Bed Bath & Beyond to get an item that could not wait even for Amazon’s two-day shipping (more on this SOON, it is related to that other large purchase I made recently) and spent $114.47.

BB&B is next to one of those “thousand flavors of froyo” places, which I am not going to name for reasons that will become abundantly clear by the end of this paragraph, and since I had spent so many hours watching people eat gummy-worm-encrusted-froyo on The Good Place, I decided I’d give it a try. I spent $4.45. The froyo tasted like chemical slurry (it was supposed to taste like cake) and gave me a stomachache that lasted for the rest of the day, so… yeah, it was a pretty accurate Good Place experience.

Then I spent $27.80 at HyVee Pharmacy to get melatonin tablets and Airborne (I know Airborne has been scientifically proven to not be useful but I also know that I haven’t ever gotten sick while actively taking it, and I don’t want to get sick until this show is over), and later I bought an $0.99 bag of almonds at Walgreens because I didn’t want to eat dinner but figured I should eat something.

Plus my Simplecast membership renewed this weekend, so that was another $12.

Total spending: $217.98.

How about you?

Also — I have not yet made a donation to the Tree of Life synagogue, but they have a verified GoFundMe.
