Share Your Success Tuesday

It’s Tuesday, which means it’s time to share our recent financial successes.

Last week, I set myself the financial goal of transferring my everyday spending to my new Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card, so I could earn that 30,000 mile bonus after spending $1,000 in the first 90 days. That goal was… easily achieved.

I also did pretty well at food spending while I was in Missoula; the hotel provided free hot breakfast, and although I did end up buying some of the music festival food truck pod food, I also made meals from what was available at Deano’s Travel Plazas (there was one next to the hotel and one next to the festival). Bags of unsalted nuts, oranges, etc.

Of the $75.68 I spent on food this weekend, a third of it came from everyone going out for fancy wine and snacks after the reading, which should say something about… spending money on wine, I guess. (And snacks.)

And, if we want to look at earning money instead of spending it: I booked my flight into Missoula in the early morning on Friday and I booked my flight back to Seattle in the late evening on Monday, which meant I got two full workdays while I was traveling. That is a huge success.

How about you?
