Monday Check-In

My mason jar vase stands empty.

Happy Monday! It’s time to check in on our weekend spending.

Last week, I estimated that I would spend $15 on groceries. I ended up spending $18.66, because I had a coupon that would give me $3 off if I spent $20. (I didn’t end up buying any grocery-store flowers because they all looked half-dead, but I did buy peaches and strawberries instead of less-expensive apples since $3 of my purchase was “free.”)

I also estimated that I would spend $5.75 on two loads of laundry, and I ended up spending $8.25 on three loads.

Lastly, I estimated that I would spend $180 on my phone and internet bills, and I spent $96.93 on phone and $85.46 on internet, or $182.39 total.

I also took the bus both ways to my Hugo House class instead of taking Lyft rides, and listened to The Other Washington podcast discuss that Seattle $15 minimum wage study. (They come to pretty much the same conclusions I did: a few individuals might be earning less but A LOT of people are seeing benefits.)

Then I bought a $0.79 bottle of water because it was hot out and I was about to go teach for two hours. Next time I’ll bring my own bottle.

Total spending: $210.09.

How about you?
