Monday Check-In

You are never fully done with shopping. That’s the problem. (Photo credit: Mike Seyfang, CC BY 2.0.)

Happy Monday! Let’s check in and see how close we came to our weekend spending estimates.

Last Friday, I estimated that I would spend $175 on groceries, two Lyft rides, library fines, and some small household items I needed to buy on Amazon.

I ended up spending $25.54 on one Lyft ride. (I decided to save money by taking the bus to the venue—a trip which was supposed to take 60 minutes and ended up taking close to 90—and a Lyft back home.)

Before I took that Lyft home, I bought myself a $5.48 dessert at Hot Cakes.

I paid $2.00 in library fines.

I also did a load of laundry, so $3.50 for that.

I spent $84.12 on groceries, and an embarrassing $103.96 on Amazon stuff. (I bought eleven different things, so it was less than $10 per thing on average, but still. Those small household items add up.)

Total spending: $224.60.

How about you?
