Boyband Member Refuses to Pay Baggage Fee, Passes Out, Gets Exactly What He Wanted
James McElvar, a 19-year-old member of the Scottish boyband Rewind, wanted to avoid paying a £45 baggage fee so he emptied his bag and put on all his clothes like Joey in that one episode of “Friends” when Joey wore all of Chandler’s clothes:

Except, unlike the fictional Joey, the BBC reports that McElvar collapsed onboard the Easyjet flight from heat exhaustion:
McElvar was wearing four jumpers, six T-shirts, three pairs of jeans, two pairs of jogging bottoms, two jackets and two hats when he collapsed.
Paramedics reportedly told him he was “lucky to be alive”.

This could be a simple “teen does a dumb thing to avoid paying a baggage fee” story, but I’ve read lots of boyband conspiracy theories (thanks to 1D-obsessed Logan) and noticed that James McElvar’s Twitter feed is just filled with tons and tons of retweets of all the media organizations covering the story and have come up with my own conspiracy theory that he did this on purpose precisely for all the press. I’ve never heard of the Rewind, but I have now! Smart move, McElvar.
