Buying a Soundtrack From 2000 in 2015

Our pal, Adam Freelander, whom you may know from his movie coverage for our site in the past, has been guest-editing this week while Nicole is away on a cruise. Adam tried to help me acquire some music yesterday.
Mike: Adam can you help me a with a personal thing?
Adam: Is it medical?
Mike: I want to download the “Love and Basketball” soundtrack but can’t find it. It’s not on iTunes. And they’re selling the CD for $45 on Amazon (lol).
Adam: What!!! Ok, hang on.
Mike: OK.
Adam: … You can torrent it.
Mike: Adam, I don’t do that. And it sounds like a hassle. I’m just going to build a time machine and tell my high school self to buy it at Blockbuster Music.
Adam: Great. I downloaded Speed last night to get some image stills for a post I wrote.
Mike: You’re tech savvy!
Adam: I don’t feel that way. Is this soundtrack on Spotify?
Mike: Oh maybe — I don’t really stream music though.
Adam: On principle? (I don’t really either.)
Mike: Not on principle. I guess it’s more like, I just want to be able to listen to stuff whenever I want.
Adam: Yeah. You can do that if you pay for Spotify. It lets you download.
Mike: Oh, I don’t want to pay for Spotify. But if you looked at how much money I spent on iTunes last year, it’s mind-boggling.
Adam: … The soundtrack download is not working.
Mike: Lol, I mean, the soundtrack is 15 years old.
Adam: I also bet you could find a lot of the individual tracks on iTunes.
Mike: What if I bought the CD for $45?
Adam: You can do that, I think you just have to be open about it and justify it to your readers.
