Considering What Wealthy Is

Marketplace has been traveling around the country since January asking residents in various states to finish the following sentence: “You Know You’re Wealthy When…”
The majority of people so far have had very reasonable responses (instead of like, “You know you’re wealthy when you have a mansion and your own private jet,” which, duh.). They all tend to be along the lines of: You know you’re wealthy when you can quit your job on the spot, or get out of debt (Dallas), or when you’re able to do something you love without worrying about paying the bills (D.C.), or when you’re feeling secure and happy (Santa Monica).
I agree with much of what people have said above, especially when it comes to careers, debt and happiness. We all have our own definitions of wealth. What’s yours?
