Question Wednesday

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time to pull the wool off our financial questions.

Today’s question is inspired by an article I read on NBC’s Better blog: Want to save more and spend less money? Try the financial buddy system.

The idea — which you can probably already guess — is that if you have a designated financial buddy holding you accountable, you’ll be more likely to hit your financial goals.

So I’m curious: do any of you have a financial buddy? I was about to say that I didn’t have one, and then I realized that The Billfold has been my financial buddy for the past four years. You’ve helped me stick to my plans to save more money, get out of debt, and get into investing, and I would not be where I am financially without you. Thanks, y’all.

I’m guessing that many of you would count The Billfold as your financial buddy as well, though I’d bet at least some of you have non-Billfold buddies who help keep you financially accountable. (A lot of apps want to fill that financial buddy role, too.)
