I don’t remember the last book I put down that I did finish. No, of course that isn’t true — but it does feel like I buy books — physical, analog books, usually from my local bookstore because I want it to remain my local bookstore — with the best of intentions. With a romantic optimism that I will finish it within days. But days have a habit of becoming weeks and months, and those mocking, dog-eared pages start to add up.

From an interview with J.J. Abrams in the Sunday Book Review, which is relevant to our interests (see previous interview). I am also guilty of buying books from a bookstore and then not exactly getting to them, but having them pile up.
