Ice Creams of Summer, So Far

Ice cream truck (IF ice cream truck AND cash THEN ice cream)
Vanilla soft serve with chocolate sprinkles, $3. Perfection. Compare all ice cream experiences to this one. Most fall short. Serendipity of encountering ice cream truck like oasis in city desert just pushes it over the top.

Vanilla soft serve dipped in red cherry hard shell, $3. Was super hot day and thought that maybe cherry dip would be refreshing? Melted crayons not refreshing, turns out. Still great.

Vanilla soft serve dipped in rainbow sprinkles, $3. Not as good as chocolate sprinkles even though ostensibly made out of same plastic substance.

Bodega Haagan Dazs Vanilla Milk Chocolate Bar. $3.50. So good. God this is so good. The best thing you can do for yourself is have like, one drink, and then make a positive decision for your life and leave wherever you are and on the way home buy one of these and walk down the street and eat it and just like, be happy to be alive. Could also buy pack from the normal store for probably the same price but the stress of trying not to eat remaining bars would not be worth the lower unit price, In My Opinion.

Ben and Jerry’s Pistachio Pint, $5ish. Perfect flavor. Perfect taste. Perfect color. There are pistachios in the ice cream, which is a major minus as far as taste and convenience and decorum — spitting out all those nuts isn’t Pretty — but it does keep you from housing it so fast, so, maybe good, actually. Unclear.

Lime Popsicle, $1.50???
Dripped on my arm but didn’t find it until the next day and by then had forgotten about popsicle and thought brightly colored bug had died or peed on me. Refreshing, would get again. Gulped glass of water after. Cause and effect? We’ll never know.

VanLeeuwan’s Artisanal Special Handmade Magic Ice Cream and Aesthetically Pleasing Ice Cream Shoppes and Many Trucks
Mint chip, $5??. Doesn’t look like mint because not bright green, but is mint. Subtle.
Earl grey, $5??. Great flavor. Just a superb flavor.
Pistachio, $5??. Doesn’t look like pistachio because not bright green but is pistachio. Subtle. No nuts.
Chocolate, $5??. Duh.

Grom
Tiramisu and coconut, $6. I heard this gelato place was good, which is a stupid thing to hear or say, because, what, unlike the other gelato places? Which aren’t good? Anyway, I bought this and then sat on some church steps and ate it with one of those little spoons that should theoretically make it last longer but did not. Delicious, obviously, but at what cost? ($6.50)
