United States v. One Pearl Necklace
Yo yo yo you’ve got to read Sarah Stillman on civil forfeiture in the New Yorker. It’s this thing, whereby the police can take your things and you can’t do anything about it! They just TAKE YOUR STUFF. And it’s legal. (“One result is the rise of improbable case names such as United States v. One Pearl Necklace and United States v. Approximately 64,695 Pounds of Shark Fins.”) It’s really good and also will get your blood boiling, which is almost akin to actual physical exercise, I’ve read.
