A Money Planning Tool for Gay Couples
NerdWallet — a great site to compare credit cards that we’ve written about before — just launched a new money planning tool for same-sex couples. Just in time for Pride Month! As they note: “A heterosexual couple that spends $40 for a marriage license is automatically granted access to the 1,138 rights accorded by the Federal government through marriage. Same-sex couples have to spend between $1,500 and $10,000 to replicate the most important of these legal and economic benefits.” The new section helps gay couples navigate through legal issues and various tax situations. Perhaps this is relevant to your interests, or the interests of people you know!
